Your brush is drained; the mascara pot is running out; your liquid lining is dried out; or maybe you are on a trip and you forgot to bring along your eyelid brush; how tragic!
In order to save the day you need to do the following: Work on your Mascara with depth inside the tube in order to have a nice drop. Then, apply it on a hard and clean surface (Fingernails are an ideal choice); dip the tip of brush with a thin end and make a very thin line along the eyelash (a sharp brush would not make neat results) this is method is completely safe for the eye area and make the Mascara stay longer!
